覇権だなんだと世界は今日もやかましいな、我が読者。
誰が覇権を取ろうがどうでもいい。
ボクらはボクらの好きなことを、好きなようにやり、好きにした。
それゆえ、このように自称する。自己を証明し、自己紹介する。
これはある種の自傷であり、起きてしまった事象の名前だ。
そう、我々は「魔王」だ ――
おっと、いきなり語りだして悪かったな。
とはいえ、この世界を "終焉" と呼ぶか、それとも "理想郷" と呼ぶかは人によって異なる。"箱庭" と呼称するものいるだろうし、"楽園" と言うものもいる。
キミが終末世界と感じるならそうなんだろう。ボクはそう思わない、というだけだ。
ただひとつ言えるのは、この世界はいま神々のものでもなければ人類のものでもない。
まさに、どちらがこの星の支配者であるかを決めている最中だ。
仮に神々に敗れることがあれば、文字通り人類は滅亡する。
否、消失といったほうがいいだろうな。
過去に人類が存在したという記録ごと、記憶ごと、あらゆるすべてがなかったことになる。
